When your dreams come true

I can see a pattern right in front of my mind’s eye, that of eternal suffering. We humans crave, cry, bang our heads, plead to God for our dreams to come true, for our wishes to be made real, as if there was nothing more that could mean the world to us. God sees us in pain, more pain and when the going gets too tough, sometimes, he says “Wish granted!”

The wish comes by, elates us for a few seconds, minutes, days, perhaps a few months, after which like any other thing, becomes ordinary and boring. It loses its charm because we have it now. Isn’t it?

For a moment, observe all the things, situations you wanted to be in, people you wanted to be a part of your life badly. Reflect on what you went through to plead to God to have them and later ending up with your wish granted. What happened next? Are you still ‘greatful’ for that? Or it has lost its shine and lustre?

The truth is, it is still the same, but your feelings toward it or the way you look at it or the person now has changed. I often go back to my words which I had written years ago, when I was in pain, wanting someone so bad in my life. These words are my sounding board, they help me to be grounded. They help me to be grateful for what I have now. It is not that I’m not greatful, on the contrary I feel blessed everyday for what I have. Yet, life and our way of living a ‘doing’ life often rips us from the very blessings that stands in front of us.

In a world where we are living today, it is , indeed saddening that people have forgotten the difference between people and things. Today, things are treated more precious than people and people are thrown around like used objects, waiting to be picked by someone who will use them far better than they did. Even writing these words makes me cringe.

The essence which I wish to convey is : People whose dreams, they wished for, turn into reality are indeed the lucky ones in the lot, those who wish and keep seeking, would rather be in the shoes of the lucky ones than anywhere else. Cherish what you so dearly asked for, love it the way you promised to God, when you wept those heavy salty tears. Hold your dream close to you, nurture it, with all the promises you made to God. This life is one, go beyond your fears and roar like a lion protecting his cubs ( dreams).

Evolved

Every time I look at my 'last published' column, I just realize that the gaps between the posts always increase. As we grow, a time comes when we start to keep things within and filtering them in our mind than just blabbering out any nonsense to the world. I'm also beginning to realize, thanks to the recent movies I have watched about internet and its impact on our personal lives , that we barely know the internet. In other words, there's so much at the background than at the forefront. So, its wiser to filter before we put anything out there....

Speaking of that, its been six blissful months since I have been away from FB and trust me there's a lot less junk in the mind that would earlier get generated with the mindless scrolling and peeking into other people's life.

Here's something I penned down today and wished to share.......

EVOLVED

The time has settled in
Like water that seeps into
The pores of a cool earthen pot
With years the changes have settled
The earlier murk
Now clearer waters.

The stillness is coming closer
The vision is calmer and brighter
For change has happened with-in
And can be clearly seen
As bygones.

As I see myself in the mirror
Or look back at pictures of the yesteryears
I say: So much has evolved
Yet so much stays the same
Dear Beautiful me, you are loved
Grace be yours and gratitude forever.

I never thanked you for being there.

“ I never thanked you for being there. Talking to you makes me feel alive, coz the loneliness just vanishes. That’s why I msg you every day every time.”

When words like this get delivered in our inbox, it’s not just a message, its like someone gifted a part of their heart out to you. Her words made my day today.
This is a story of a cute, snow white ( yes white), introvert and an intelligent girl. On the first day of their Bachelors as the first year girls started undergoing the drill of “ragging: by their seniors, the girls were asked to stand height wise and march to the “Psychology Lab” of the college. The line bustled with voices like “Are you taller than me” , “ Oh! I’m shorter than you” and soft giggles which mostly accompanied kindergartens.
While the ragging involved kissing each other’s bums with a loud sound of “mwaaaah” and turning up to college the next day in oily plaits and mismatched shoes, something interesting was about to happen few minutes down the line.
The batch of first years got divided into groups and was expected to go around the college with the seniors. As they got out of library, one of the cheerful girls turned to the snow white girl at the back and said “ Hi, I’m Cheer, what’s your name?”, Snow white politely answered “ I’m strawberry”.
Who knew that in that little exchange of names and contact numbers was in stored a path breaking journey of friendship, love, and a gazillion discussions ranging from food, cute boys, love, to Freud, Winnicott, Before Sunset and Before Sunrise.
When you see some pals day in and day out and wish to be in their company, people and this heart of ours begins to ask some questions, or rather feel some feelings! While it became clear by the final year of Bachelors that Cheer and Strawberry very much enjoyed and grew in each other’s company, much to Cheer’s surprise the other girls in their group began addressing them as “best friends”. It seemed sarcastic at first but well it was ignored!
As Cheer got involved in her research project in the final year  as Strawberry and other classmates did practicals, Cheer made it a point to share her research study progress with Strawberry. Years later, she wondered if Strawberry ever realised why would Cheer do this?
You see, when you find pals lying within the same intellectual plane as yours, then it’s not just friendship that bonds two people, it’s the sparks that emit and the enlightenment you seek as you respect and understand the other’s point of view.
Time passed by and in Bachelors, Strawberry got a cute ‘Hello Kitty’ key chain attached to her bag. That was the day the keychain was named “Yen” by Cheer. To this day the name remains, however we have no clue about the “hello kitty” key chain!
As it was time for Bachelors to come to an end and get the year book signed from pals, a number of huge shifts of plate had already occurred in the ground. The used to be pals seemed more like “used to be” than “pals” and Cheer realised that perhaps only Strawberry and another pal called Suzi would make it to the next level of friendship; and so it was……
To Cheer’s surprise Strawberry wrote pages and pages and pages filled with love in Cheer’s year book. Those pages till date are re visited and smiled upon as the words are a reminiscence of moments spent together sitting in the Spring coloured lawns of the College or simply exchanging messages in each other’s notebooks as AG went on seeking everyone’s attention in her ‘Social Psychology Class’.
Then came the time when it was for life to decide where the two would go and that my friends decided the course of her story………..
To be contd……

To Cheers and Strawberry...for their love of baking......<3: br="">

Today is Good

Today is Good

Dear ‘Twoday’,
I thank to you for…
The lil drops called rain,
The wet earth that smells warm,
The smiles that traverse miles,
The ‘missing feeling’ that melts hearts,
The witty students that light up a teacher’s day,
That beautiful smile which looks good on my mum’s face,
The blessings which my dad gives from his heart,
The ‘names’ my brother has called me all these years,
The way my school friends still remember me,
The clouds that feel lighter after many years,
The peace that resides in this heart,
The spirit that ignites the dreams to nurture,
The seconds that make this day a delight,
And for that ‘two-getherness’ I find with those special people,
To you ‘Two-day’, my gratitude

Greatful for A platter full of taste

This week I’m greatful for a plenty of things that happened in this Amazing August!

Greatful for Love..
From the emotion, to the expression
From learning to feeling,
From reading to talking,
Love sure is all that we have read…..and so much more.
A bounty full of joy expressed,
It gives smiles to whom you serveJ

Greatful for Pain….
And I’ll say it with Gibran
“Much of your pain is self chosen. It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.”~ Kahlil Gibran

Greatful for…Soothing Self
I realised today that at the end of the day, no one but you your ‘self’ alone have the capacity to rise above the shambles that you think your life has offered to you. A friend, a well wisher may show you how wonderful and diligent a person, a worker you are, but no thing works until your inner voice drives to shut the loud self deprecating voices and dance joyously to the achievements you have had in the past. The past smiles have their rewards to offer and say : I’ll come to you when the moment is right, and alone you deserve all the praise!:)

Dear Life,
My tryst with you is that of a life time, so well as well as you have understood me, I’m not far behind!
I’ll go above, go under or go through, but one thing I swear I’ll never do….and that is I’ll Never Give Up!!

Greatful for friendship
It is said we realise the value of something often when we lose it and so goes for a precious friend. I’m so glad I have her, my best well wisher from school time. Way too precious, way too great!:)
Have a blessed Weekend and a Superb September!;)

Greatful for.. My Wonderful Teacher

Love filled Respect
O Dear teacher of mine
My gratitude I offer to thee
For the passion of learning
You offer, so sweetly and lovingly

O Dear ideal of mine
The richness you spring in this heart
The will to reach the stars
The eyes you glitter in my eyes
Oceans full of regards to thee

O Dear guide of mine
Patience, your kindness, an asset
Wisdom, maturity, so much to learn
The fire ignites, dear Sir,
For you, from you, for years to come…………

Highest regards and heartfelt gratitude
