Hungry for~- Good Words
We are hungry for water, and certainly for food too- that which nourishes our body, and indirectly our mind too.
But have you ever been hungry for something that feeds your soul?
If not, always remember that the more we nurture our soul, the more vitality it brings to our whole system. I’m not philosophizing, but sharing what is trueJ As I have experienced it myself too.
As the title goes- Yes I’m a sucker for good words. It doesn’t matters to me whether they are simple or complex, what matters is that when I’m reading a text or a book, the instance they touch me, they go down in my diary!
And I have a good number of them penned down from here or there. In fact, I even categorize them sometimes, for instance- on Love, on sorrow, on silence, on therapy, on existence.
So here today on a gorgeous bright morning I’ll share some of them with you:
“Sanity is different way of speaking; madness is not worse than sanity, it just makes sanity sound dull”- Adam Philips, Going Sane.
“The past is available for the proper thinkings in the later course of human life”~ Sophocles
“The fact that something is obscure should never, never, never increase our respect for it. We may respect it nevertheless inspite of its obscurity, but obscurity is always a minus, never a plus”~ Bryan Magee
“Even if we know a thousand times more of ourselves, we would never reach bottom”
“Real is only what is within, what is outside is real only in terms of my needs- never in terms of its own quality of needs”~ Erich Fromm

Some of these were obscure...Period!!!!:-D
Thank u so much Rahul for being so prompt on reading my posts:) acha..they were obscure?Well when one gets used to reading great Psychoanalysts like Winnicott, Adam Philips, Sigmund Freud, these seemingly obscure words feel too simple and relatable:)It's alright.somethings strike us just when the time is best for them;):)
Have a great Sunn- Day!:)~Aakriti
Except Freud, the other names don't ring a bell to me....:-P I guess now you must be thinking.."shucks!!!!what dim-wit illiterate low-lives I have to put up with these days...ohh darn!!!!they don't make blog followers like they used to...".:-P:-D
Rahul: Are u crazy!!??:O Neither do I expect u to know these names!!!I myself got to hear then and read them over the course of my Masters. Freud is sure a well known name..So take a chill pill dude. Consider these names as technical to the field of Psychoanalysis, if nothing else;)
"Sanity is different way of speaking; madness is not worse than sanity, it just makes sanity sound dull"
Can't argue with this. If I understand it correctly...it means to say...that sanity and madness are too dissimilar from each other, they are just different ways of doing the same thing. Speaking!
“The past is available for the proper thinkings in the later course of human life”
This is true, only if you do not have a short term memory loss! ;) :P
“The fact that something is obscure should never, never, never increase our respect for it. We may respect it nevertheless in spite of its obscurity, but obscurity is always a minus, never a plus”
Hmm..can not comprehend this fully..I think. Can't think of a proper illustration right now..but I suppose..there are situations...where even when something is obscure...commands our full respect, if not more. :) What am I missing?
“Even if we know a thousand times more of ourselves, we would never reach bottom”
True. I think, it is nigh impossible to know ourselves thousand times more in the first place. And how do we know, how much more we know ourselves. There is no calibration...right?
“Real is only what is within, what is outside is real only in terms of my needs- never in terms of its own quality of needs”

ok..I made a typo...
"Sanity is different way of speaking; madness is not worse than sanity, it just makes sanity sound dull"
Can't argue with this. If I understand it correctly...it means to say...that sanity and madness are 'not' too dissimilar from each other, they are just different ways of doing the same thing. Speaking!
That's, by far, the most sensible hobby (if I can call it that) I have ever seen. And I'm constantly hungry for more stories and characters...:)
